Al Pinkerton MP visits Camberley Care

In early November we had a visit from the new MP for Surrey Heath, Al Pinkerton.
It was a great opportunity to explain what we do as a Charity and what more can be done to ensure we can continue to help the local community for many years to come.

Al’s post on Facebook can be seen here.

Michael Gove visits Camberley Care

Our outgoing MP, Michael Gove, visited Camberley Care offices recently, as part of our 50th Anniversary. Several Trustees and our office staff explained the work of Camberley Care. Mr Gove was pleased to meet the brilliant team who deliver a car service and a subsidised handyperson service for vulnerable, elderly and disabled members of the local community.

50 Years Celebration

On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, we celebrated Camberley Care’s 50th Anniversary. An afternoon tea was held at the Camberley Heath Golf Club premises for Volunteers, Trustees, invited guests and employees. The Worshipful the Mayor of Surrey Heath, Councillor Pat Tedder kindly joined us to represent the Surrey Heath Borough Council.

The Hampshire and Surrey Hills Mens Choir entertained us as we met before tea. Their performance was wonderful and we enjoyed listening to their singing.

The chair of Trustees (Tony Bovenkamp) outlined CCT’s history and thanked all present for their contribution.

There was a quiz (at which we all scored high marks – not) and plenty of sandwiches, tea and cakes.

50th Anniversary

2024 is a special year for Camberley Care as it marks our 50th anniversary!

Camberley Care was founded “around Easter” in 1974 so we don’t have an exact date. Initially it was set up as a telephone advice service only, but over the years it evolved to what you see today. We will be celebrating our golden jubilee with all our volunteers, staff, and trustees, not forgetting our clients. The venue for the main celebration has been booked, the date has been set and detailed planning is in progress. You may also have noticed our special ’50th’ logo on this website.

As more detail becomes available to share we will post it here.
