Trustee vacancies

Camberley Care Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales, Charity Number 1188130.  Our successful volunteer car service has been operating for over 50 years, and our very popular subsidised handyperson service was reinstated in 2018. Camberley Care supports elderly, disabled and vulnerable members of the Camberley and Frimley community, providing practical help they need to live safely and independently in their own homes. We are currently looking for volunteers to join our Board of Trustees, and as a Trustee, to take an active and important role in the management of the charity.

1. Volunteer Opportunity:- Trustee

Working as a team, share responsibility for governing the charity and directing how it is
managed and run:

  •  Ensuring your charity is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit
  •  Complying with your charity’s governing document and the law
  •  Acting in your charity’s best interests
  •  Managing your charity’s resources responsibly
  •  Acting with reasonable care and skill
  •  Ensuring your charity is accountable

2. Volunteer Opportunity:- Treasurer

We currently have a vacancy for someone with relevant experience in finance, with a little time to spare each week and a belief in the services we provide, to join our Board of Trustees and assume responsibility for the sound management of our finances in
accordance with Charity Commission and banking requirements.

This is a completely voluntary, unpaid role but, given the increasing levels of support Camberley Care Trust provides to the local community, is highly rewarding and satisfying. This position would particularly suit someone who is retired or semi-retired with experience in financial management in the business community or other related fields.

If you would be interested in supporting our work, by sparing a little time each week, please get in touch with us.

The Board of Trustees meets every 4 to 6 weeks, and each meeting lasts approximately two hours. We tend to meet on a Tuesday morning, although this can be flexible, and the meetings take place at High Cross Church in Camberley.
