Care Cars

In May 2013, 244 trips were undertaken by our volunteer drivers who also undertook 255 in June, 277 in July and 259 in August.

Currently we have 58 available drivers BUT we are most anxious to recruit more so do please contact us if you are interested in helping to provide this vital service to the elderly, disabled and vulnerable members of our local community.

On the 13th September 2013 Surrey Heath Dial a Ride stopped taking patients to medical appointments and is referring enquiries to us. This has resulted in a noticeable increase in our workload. We are able to transport those who use wheelchairs provided they can get in and out of a car.

Tribute

Ann Goldsmith who recently retired as a volunteer driver is a remarkable lady who has been a volunteer for well over 20 years and now, approaching her 90th birthday, has decided to retire.

Over the many years she devoted to the charity, she made countless friends among her many client’s and colleagues and all those associated with Camberley Care Trust wish to pay tribute and offer thanks to Ann for her exceptional contribution.

What our clients say about us

Letter of appreciation from Mrs English of Frimley

Dear Sirs

I have used Camberley Care for many years now, so I thought it was time to voice my appreciation of your service.

Michael has attended to my problems for some time now, and I have always found his work to be clean, efficient, and to my complete satisfaction. I have also used drivers, all of whom are so helpful and kind.

Thank you for providing such a service to “oldies” like me, who are grateful to find such honest, reliable people whom we can trust and at such favourable prices.

We look forward to many more years of such assistance, as the alternative is avoiding cow boys who take advantage, if one is old, female and alone

With sincere thanks

New Lower Cost for Handyman Service

No need to put off getting those maintenance jobs fixed!

The Camberley Care Handyman is an experienced tradesman who specialises in meeting the special needs of the elderly and disabled. As with all Camberley Care staff and volunteers, he has been checked by the Criminal Records Bureau, and is backed by the Camberley Care team – so that you do not need to worry about having a stranger in the house.

Thanks to support from our Sponsors, we have been able to reduce the hourly cost of our Handyman Service.

As from Monday 20th May the service will be available for only £15 per hour to include the time of our tradesman, van, tools, insurance and office backup.  There is a minimum charge of one hour (£15) and thereafter time is charged at a rate of £3.75 per 15 minutes or part thereof. All materials used are charged to the client at cost.

Surrey Heath Show

The Camberley Care team, led by Chairman Peter Close,  were out in force at the Surrey Heath Show held on Saturday 4th May at Frimley Lodge Park.  It is estimated that more than 10,000 people attended to see the shows and more than 100 stands and exhibits.

The Camberley Care stand attracted much interest and received enquiries from potential clients, volunteers and several local Councilors.

Thank you

(A family friend of Mrs Becket’s called saying) :

Thank you to all at Camberley Care for the professional level of service they received from the office and handyman service recently.  Very reassuring such a caring and trustworthy organisation is helping the elderly in their own homes.

Welcome

As the newly appointed Chairman of the Trustees of Camberley Care Trust, I welcome you to our new website which I hope you will find both informative and simple to navigate.  I wish to thank those of my colleagues who have worked hard to create it.  It will be our aim to keep the site under regular review and to publish, from time to time, topics of interest regarding our activities.  We are keen to attract new clients for our services and additional volunteers so please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be pleased to help and/or provide further information.  We would, also, very much welcome donations to assist us to continue to provide very valuable services  to the community.

We would welcome any constructive comments you may wish to make about this website or, indeed, our services.

Peter Close
